Life, work, and accomplishments:

  • Author on environmental and climate change topics, she wrote the Rachel Carson Environmental Book Award-winning Inconspicuous Consumption: The Environmental Impact You Don’t Know You Have.
  • A prolific journalist, Tatiana was a freelancer with her own climate newsletter, and a former New York Times science and climate writer, whose work also appeared in The Washington Post, The Atlantic, Vanity Fair, The Boston Globe, Bloomberg, Yale Environment 360, and elsewhere. She previously worked as a general local reporter on a variety of subjects.
  • Tatiana’s skill in journalism and press writing was evident from early on, and she grew her skill as the editor-and-chief of the Yale Herald during her time in undergraduate studies.
  • On November 22, 2025, the 62nd anniversary of her grandfather’s (JFK) death, she revealed she had acute myeloid leukemia, a terminal cancer. Despite undergoing extensive treatment, including chemotherapy, bone marrow transplants and a clinical trial for immunotherapy, the cancer caused her death at age 35 on December 30, 2025.
  • The JFK Presidential Library Foundation shared the announcement of her death, which was made on her family’s Instagram account stating, “Our beautiful Tatiana passed away this morning. She will always be in our hearts.”
