Rosemary’s disability, complicated by an unsuccessful surgery, institutionalized her for life with limited capacity for speech and walking, but inspired her family to efforts for the disabled which helped millions.
Rosemary regularly visited the family in Hyannis Port, including a visit to the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum, until her death at the age of 85 from a heart attack.
The John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum Foundation has made the decision to close for visitors until April 30th. We are doing this as a proactive effort out of an abundance of caution and in response to the advice of public health officials to help slow the spread of COVID-19. We will continue to assess the situation as it evolves.
