The John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum received a $100,000 gift from the Scudder family and Hy-Line Cruises to help with renovations and upgrades to the facility’s lower level, according to a statement from the museum.
The renovated space will contain an auditorium/media room and the Scudder Family Community Room, the statement says. The new space will be used for education and cultural programs.
The additional space will allow the museum to become a “full-time operation” according to museum Executive Director John Allen. Currently, it’s open June through October.
The museum was founded on July 22, 1992, and preserves and promotes the legacy of President Kennedy, his family and their deep connection to Cape Cod through multimedia exhibits, the statement says.
