HYANNIS, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A rocking chair that could be one of the most famous in the world, can now be found on Cape Cod.
President John F. Kennedy’s famous rocking chair will call Hyannis home for the next two years. The chair is on display at the JFK Hyannis Museum until 2023 after previously being kept in New York.
For over a half-century, the chair called the Waldorf Astoria New York’s Presidential Suite home. The iconic chair is on loan from the Waldorf Astoria as the luxury New York City Hotel undergoes an extensive restoration.
The museum said President Kennedy favored it because of its low seat and curved back. This provided comfort to the President to ease his chronic back pain.
