The John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum is pleased to extend a special exhibit continuing throughout 2026, titled “We Remember JFK, Jr.” honoring the life, legacy, and enduring public affection for John F. Kennedy Jr.
Included with regular museum admission, the exhibit offers visitors a moving and reflective experience that begins immediately upon arrival. Guests are welcomed with a four‑minute introductory video, setting the tone for a remembrance that captures the spirit, curiosity, and family life of JFK Jr.
On the Museum’s second floor, visitors will encounter a curated photographic exhibition tracing John F. Kennedy Jr.’s life—from his earliest days in a family that lived in the public eye, through his career, marriage, personal milestones, and lasting cultural impact—until his sudden death at the age of thirty-eight. The photographs highlight moments of grace, determination, humor, and humanity that continue to resonate with audiences decades later.
The exhibition includes a stunning portrait of John F. Kennedy Jr. by acclaimed fine artist Shelley Thayer Layton. The portrait, part of the museum’s permanent collection, was generously donated by the artist and serves as an emotional focal point of the exhibit. Rich in detail and presence, the painting invites quiet reflection and stands as a lasting tribute to JFK Jr.’s life and legacy.
“John F. Kennedy Jr. remains deeply remembered for his intellect, kindness, sense of duty, and unmistakable connection to the American public,” said Wendy Northcross, museum executive director. “This exhibit offers visitors an opportunity to reflect and remember a life that was part of our shared American experience.”
“We Remember JFK, Jr.” is included with regular museum admission and is open Monday through Saturday 10 am to 5 PM for the season.
