The John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum’s Centennial Celebration laser-cut greeting card is a beautiful keepsake that unfolds like a miniature surprise!

Inside you’ll find a three dimensional laser-cut, handcrafted, pop-up model of the “Victura“, John F. Kennedy’s beloved 26 foot Wianno Senior Sloop. The Victura is surrounded by a laser-cut frame of nautical rope with nautical knots in two corners and the Great Seal of the United States in the upper left corner.

Included in the lower right is John F. Kennedy’s famous quote We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea – whether it is to sail or to watch – we are going back from whence we came“. (From remarks at the dinner for the America’s Cup Crews, September 14, 1962.)

In 1932 the Wianno Senior hull number 94 was purchased by Joe and Rose Kennedy as a present for their son Jack’s fifteenth birthday. The “Victura” would become the Kennedy Family’s favorite boat. With a draft of 2.5 feet, with the centerboard up, the Wiannos could easily sail over most shoats.
