New Installation Offers Fresh Perspective on the Kennedy Family Legacy
HYANNIS, Mass. (May 8, 2026) — The John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum is pleased to announce the installation of an updated Family Tree Wall, now on view for museum visitors. Installed on May 6, 2026, this update provides a refreshed, clearly presented look at the Kennedy family lineage, offering historical context and deeper insight into one of America’s most well‑known families.
Designed to enhance the visitor experience, the updated Family Tree Wall presents multiple generations of the Kennedy family beginning with Ambassador Joseph P. Kennedy and Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, parents of the president. The installation helps orient guests as they explore the Museum’s exhibits, placing the lives of President John F. Kennedy, his parents, siblings, children, nieces and nephews and their extended family within a broader historical and familial framework.
“The Kennedy story is often experienced through individual moments and public milestones,” said Wendy Northcross, executive director. “The updated Family Tree Wall allows visitors to better understand the family connections behind those moments and the shared history that shaped them.”
The refreshed wall features updated research, improved readability, and a design that complements the Museum’s fixed and rotating exhibitions. It serves as both an educational resource and a point of reflection, encouraging visitors to consider legacy, family, and the passage of time.
The Family Tree Wall installation is included with regular museum admission and is open Monday through Saturday 10 am to 5 PM for the season.
