The JFK Hyannis Museum is pleased to announce the appointment of John P. Gibbons as our new Associate Executive Director.

John brings more than 20 years of experience in international museum leadership and community outreach, including more than 16 years at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. In his new role, he will provide operational leadership across the museum and help guide its continued growth, programming, and community engagement.

“John is a proven leader in the museum and nonprofit sectors, and his commitment to community outreach and engagement is steadfast,” said Wendy Northcross, Kennedy Museum Executive Director. “The museum is on the threshold of many new advancements and initiatives, and John’s background makes him perfectly qualified to help us strongly achieve them.”

“I am thrilled to have this opportunity and join the JFK Hyannis Museum in this role,” said Gibbons. “Museums play such a critical and anchoring role, not only in their local community, but throughout their region and well beyond. The JFK Hyannis Museum, through its exhibitions and programs, is a perfect example of this, and to have the chance to be part of its team and its exciting future is truly an honor.”
