The sea and shores of Hyannis Port inspired our 35th President like no other place on earth.

The hearse carrying the body of Shriver, followed closely by her family, arrived at the Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church in Centerville before 1 p.m.

In an interview outside the church, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. spoke about his aunt.

“Eunice’s life was such an example of the best of our country and the best of humanity,” he said. “And I think there is so much pride and love about her, that this has been a joyful time for us instead of a time of great sadness.”

Public Wake is scheduled for 1 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of Victory Church, Centerville, MA.
A private funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow in St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church on South Street in Hyannis. The Mass is not open to the public, however, it will be broadcast live on the Internet at www.eunicekennedyshriver.org.

The service will be preceded by Special Olympians and law enforcement officers carrying the Special Olympic Torch, a family statement said.

A private wake was held Tuesday August 11th near the Kennedy Family Compound in Hyannisport. No Burial arrangements have been released.

To honor her legacy, consider a donation to the Special Olympics.
